- Organization Description:
We have been transforming healthcare since 1885. With 54,500 employees across 130 markets, we create long-term value through science, innovation, and a deep commitment to improving human and animal health. Our purpose-driven approach combines sustainable thinking, breakthrough solutions, and a strong culture of learning and collaboration.
At Boehringer Ingelheim Turkey, we believe that sustainable transformation begins with people.
Guided by this belief, we launched BI-LET, a comprehensive talent acceleration and capability-building program designed to upskill and reskill our medical representatives-empowering them for future-ready commercial leadership roles. Built on a multi-layered development architecture, BI-LET brings together competency-based assessments, high-impact learning modules, coaching and mentoring, real-life business projects, and cross-functional collaboration.
Since 2017, BI-LET has strengthened the leadership and commercial capabilities of our field teams through four integrated capability areas:
- Personal mastery and leadership foundations (self-awareness, resilience, ethical conduct, leadership presence)
- Business and strategic acumen (market and competitive analysis, financial literacy, strategic thinking, project management, digital literacy and innovation)
- People and stakeholder leadership (coaching skills, feedback culture, storytelling, negotiation and presentation techniques)
- Future-readiness and global competence (global mindset, English fluency, role-model behaviors, long-term leadership development)
From 2017 to today, BI-LET has become one of our most impactful capability-building initiatives. Across three cohorts, 61 employees have participated, and 21 have been promoted into critical commercial roles-equivalent to a strong 34% internal promotion rate. These promotions include Regional Sales Managers, Product Specialists, Key Account Managers, Commercial Managers, and other strategic roles across the organization. This clearly demonstrates BI-LET's role in accelerating leadership readiness and strengthening our internal talent pipeline.
One of the program's most significant achievements is ensuring the long-term sustainability of our leadership bench. Over the past decade, all Regional Sales Manager appointments have been filled internally, supported by BI-LET's structured, future-focused development journey. This reflects the program's consistency in developing high-performing, ready-now leaders.
In its latest cohort, BI-LET entered a new stage of innovation. After a rigorous HR-led evaluation process, leading subject-matter experts were integrated into the program to deliver cutting-edge, future-oriented content. We also embedded AI-enabled tools for the first time, providing personalized insights, more precise assessments, and data-driven learning pathways-further modernizing the program's design.
By continuously updating the skills and capabilities of our field teams, BI-LET not only strengthens individual career growth but also enhances the organization's adaptability in a rapidly changing environment. As a result, our field promotion and sales teams have evolved into strong, differentiated, high-impact groups that contribute directly to our commercial success and future readiness.
