The Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation is one of the leading institutions in the United Arab Emirates specializing in mining, minerals, and the extraction of various rocks. Established in 2009, the corporation aims to regulate and manage natural resources and invest in them in alignment with the country's sustainable development strategy. The corporation oversees more than 70 mining Quarries.

As the Director of the Geology and Mining Department at the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation (FNRC), I firmly believe that the success of the Organization and the achievement of its strategic vision largely depend on attracting and empowering individuals capable of innovation, adopting advanced technologies in the relevant fields

In this context, I play an active and direct role in achieving the Organization's objectives through a set of following strategic initiatives

Enhancing the Efficiency of Exploration and Sustainable Production: I contributed to improving the efficiency of geological exploration and mineral reserve estimation by applying best sustainable scientific practices and modern technologies, such as remote sensing, spectral analysis, and 3D geological data modeling

Promoting a Culture of Operational Excellence and Sustainability in Mining Establishments: I lead the project where FNRC sought to enhance operational performance by issuing the "Operational Excellence Manual for Mining Establishments", which outlined best global standards in safety, environmental compliance, and business continuity.

Reducing Environmental Impact and Dust Emissions: To minimize the environmental footprint of mining activities, I directed establishments to adopt clean and renewable energy sources, including solar energy and to improve the efficiency of operational equipment. This transition led to a 28% reduction in dust emissions and a 22% reduction in fuel consumption across several sites.

Enhancing Productivity Through Digital Transformation: I implemented modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital analytics within inspection and monitoring systems, which helped accelerate the handling of operational violations and supported immediate action and data driven decision making.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability and Social Responsibility: Sustainability is a core pillar of the FNRC's strategy, and I played an important role in designing and implementing initiatives that ensure the optimal use of natural resources while preserving the environment.

Key contributions included developing rehabilitation plans for mining sites post extraction, utilizing modern technologies for waste management, and reducing emissions from mining operations. I also assist in preparing comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports that ensure compliance with both local and international sustainability standards.

Transitioning towards Clean Energy and Reducing Carbon Footprint: In alignment with national sustainability objectives and the UAE's commitment to carbon neutrality, I guided mining establishments to adopt clean energy solutions such as solar power and to improve the efficiency of machinery and generators. This transition resulted in a 28% reduction in dust emissions, significantly contributing to improved environmental conditions, while also reducing fuel consumption by 22% across several sites.

CO2 Mineralization (HASA Project): I am participating in CO2 mineralization project as an active project group member. The geology in Fujairah Emirate is very unique, where the peridotite rocks are well exposed and also extended to kilometers in subsurface depth. These rocks have tendency to store and convert CO2 gas to calcite or magnesite mineral. In line with UAE vision 2050, UAE government took initiative (HASA Project) for carbon neutrality in the region. It is a very unique and first project of its kind in Middle East and Africa region. I delivered my best for the success of this project.
