Established in 1954, VakıfBank demonstrated its commitment to sports by founding the VakıfBank Women's Volleyball Team in 1986. The formation of the team was driven by the specific objective of nurturing young women through volleyball training and successfully representing Türkiye in prestigious international competitions.

The VakıfBank Sports Club maintains the notable distinction of being 'Türkiye's most decorated team,' evidenced by its exceptional record which includes four FIVB Club World Championships and six CEV Champions League titles.

VakıfBank established a Guinness World Record for an impressive streak of 73 consecutive victories across all national and international competitions, maintained between October 23, 2012, and January 22, 2014. As of January 23, 2014, this achievement remains the record for the most consecutive wins in domestic and international official competitions.

Furthermore, VakıfBank's exceptional dominance extends to the global stage. Having secured the FIVB Club World Championship four times, the club has also earned a place in the Guinness World Records in this category. In addition to these historic feats, the VakıfBank women's volleyball team is recognized as ''Türkiye's first and most Champions League trophy holder', holding the record for CEV Champions League titles won in 2011, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2023.

VakıfBank continues its unwavering commitment to supporting young women, a dedication that has spanned 40 uninterrupted years. The club currently operates a total of 11 sports schools, strategically located with four in Istanbul, two each in Ankara, İzmir, and Bursa, and one in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

To ensure the continuous development of talent, auditions are held annually to recruit promising young women into the VakıfBank infrastructure. Through these comprehensive development programs, VakıfBank plays a pivotal role in cultivating the volleyball stars of the future. VakıfBank holds a pioneering position in women's volleyball in Turkey. The club's investments in youth development and the sport of volleyball have significantly contributed to the growth of Turkish volleyball and its current success.

National team achievements

In 2023, the Turkish Women's Volleyball Team reached the top of the National Team rankings. That same year, they also won the VNL Nations League and the European Championship. While Türkiye achieved these successes, four players who came through VakıfBank's youth system were part of the national team roster.

VakıfBank's new project

In addition to all this VakıfBank, which made history in women's volleyball with the social responsibility project it launched 40 years ago, signed a new project on September 13, 2025, to contribute to Turkish and world volleyball. VakıfBank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with volleyball schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With this project, 38 volleyball schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be closely monitored by VakıfBank Sports Club coaches. At certain times, athletes will be monitored by VakıfBank coaches, and successful athletes will be invited to the VakıfBank Bosnia and Herzegovina Sports School. After training there for a period of time, girls who are successful in the subsequent trials will be invited to Turkey to join the VakıfBank Sports Club's infrastructure.
